Michael Whitfield: About

Mike & Chuck

One True Thing is an inspirational four song collection by singer songwriter Michael Whitfield and Liquid Mind composer Chuck Wild, whose best-selling relaxation albums have been on the Billboard new age sales charts continuously since late 2006.

Though this project isn't signed to a major label, the artists felt the message of universal peace and truth was important enough to release the four songs independently. Mike sings lead, Mike and Chuck sing backgrounds, Chuck plays all keyboard parts, and their friend Larry Treadwell plays guitar.

Whitfield and Wild have worked together on pop and new age projects, and music for television since 1994. They have been mentored over the years by five-time Grammy winning engineer/producer Bruce Swedien. Wild's experience in the music industry spans over three decades, including keyboardist in the ground-breaking 80's New Wave band Missing Persons. He's perhaps best known for his nine-album Liquid Mind series of sedative ultra-slow relaxation music, and for writing many songs and compositions for television, film, and recording artists, including the number one (European) Jennifer Rush hit, You're My One and Only, co-penned with legendary songwriter, the late Marti Sharron.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Whitfield spent most of his early years in Cocoa Beach, Florida. He studied at the University of Florida, followed by a move to Los Angeles to pursue his interests in music. Michael is a student of A Course in Miracles.

Over the years, more than 75 of Chuck's tunes have been either recorded for albums or used in television and film -- such renowned artists as the Pointer Sisters, Tommy Page, Wink, Jennifer Rush, Timothy Leary, Thelma Houston, Glenn Medeiros, and Philip Bailey have recorded songs by Wild. He co-wrote the music for the Emmy®-winning ABC series Max Headroom. As well he's worked in the studio with many world-class artists, including Michael Jackson, Paula Abdul, Philip Bailey, and Frank Zappa, among others.

Both Chuck and Mike make their homes in Hollywood, California.
